Sure, there are the traditional features you would expect to see at a Sydney ice rink. Public skating sessions and Learn To Skate classes, but at ICE ZOO you can learn to play ice hockey, take part in ice fitness classes or come along to live DJ nights with fantastic light shows.
ICE ZOO’s focus is on safety, entertainment and fun. It’s all delivered to the highest standard, not only on the rink, but also at the ICE ZOO cafe and licensed bar, which are open at all times the centre is operating.
Then there are the ICE ZOO Igloos. You can have all to yourself with your family and friends to celebrate special milestones in your own space.
Australian Winter Olympian skater Liz Cain has a dream, which has been fulfilled with the inception of ICE ZOO. Liz also competed in five World Skating Championships in figure pairs with her brother, Peter Cain.
Liz and Peter are the only non-British couple to ever win the British Skating Championships. They also performed as principal skaters with internationally-renowned US-based ice shows such as Ice Follies/Holiday On Ice, Disney On Ice and Torvill & Dean.
A byword in the world of skating, Liz also starred in Australia’s first reality ice skating television series, Channel Nine’s Skating On Thin Ice.
Don’t just take out word for it! Sydney ice rink ICE ZOO offers the most fun you can have on ice – come and see for yourself…you’ll be most welcome!
Peter Lynch, Liz’s husband, started skating in the 1960s at the magnificent Sydney ice rink Burwood Glaciarium, which was built-and-operated by his father.
The Glaciarium set a new standard in Australian ice rink design, finish and size. It was the largest at the time in Australia, and was an industry leader for ice sport and entertainment. Skaters poured in, despite high standards, which included jeans being banned!
In keeping with the family tradition of excellence, ICE ZOO has established new standards for ice rink design. Peter, the Australian Ice Meister, has instituted numerous ice rink build-and-operational features. These have been perfected through the hundreds of ice rink installations through the sister business, Stars On Ice, over more than 20 years.
Stars On Ice designs, installs and operates transportable ice rinks for indoor-and-outdoor features, festivals, corporate events and television shows throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
