Learn to Ice Skate! ICE ZOO prepares skaters for the next level by utilising Ice Skating Australia’s Learn To Skate program

ICE ZOO offers group lessons that can place enthusiasts in ICE ZOO’s Ice Hockey Development or Skate Academy to expand their skill sets.

ICE ZOO’s Learn to Skate Academy focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. Using Ice Skating Australia’s Aussie Skate program, it teaches the ice-skating fundamentals needed to participate in any ice sport, or to skate recreationally!

Aussie Skate Competitions are held at various ice rinks within NSW throughout the year all ISA Registered and Aussie Skate skaters are welcome to participate.

Anyone can take part

Beginners of all ages – from 3 years of age through to adults are all welcome to take part in ICE ZOO’s Learn to Skate – Skate Academy.

Skate Academy runs in conjunction with the Public-School Terms. Classes are held on Monday Nights, Friday Nights and Saturday Mornings.

Ice Skating is taught in 1/2-hour group classes and skaters progress through the levels at their own pace. Assessments are conducted every 5 weeks, allowing skaters to move up levels.

Classes are in groups of ten and taught by Australian Professional Association accredited coaches.

Classes

Skate Academy skating session begins at 5pm on Monday and Friday or 8am on a Saturday.

Classes are structured as below:

MONDAY AND FRIDAY

  • 5:15 – 5:45: Beginners and Novice 1
  • 5:45 – 6:15: Novice 2 and Intermediate 1 and 2
  • 6:15 – 6:45: Free Skate Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4 (No Free Skate on a Friday Evening)

SATURDAY MORNING

  • 8:15 – 8:45: Beginners and Novice 1
  • 8:45 – 9:15: Novice 2 and Intermediate 1 and 2
  • 9:15 – 9:45: Free Skate Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4

This program is ideal for anyone looking to improve their basic skills in figure skating, speed skating or just skating for skating’s sake.

ICE ZOO helps you in your endeavours by the use of the nationally-tested, proven curriculum, Aussie Skate, by delivering methods which guarantee skater success in the faster development of stronger basic skills.

What’s in store

Learn to Ice Skate with action and movement, style and grace while having fun with group lessons in a maximum format of one coach to every 10 students.

Progress at your own rate, stress-free, with safety, as your coach utilises teaching aids, upbeat music and numerous fun activities to create a motivational environment to promote learning.

Effort and participation are rewarded with badges presented to skaters to signify their progress.

5 Lesson Pass: $160.00
