Why SkateFAST?
Experience the Thrill of Speed
Short track speed skating is fast, exciting and action-packed. Skaters learn how to accelerate, corner, glide efficiently and develop the skills used in one of the most thrilling Winter Olympic sports.
Build Confidence, Fitness and Coordination
SkateFAST helps skaters develop balance, agility, coordination, strength and endurance, all while having fun on the ice. It’s a fantastic way to stay active and build physical literacy through sport.
Learn the Real Skills of Speed Skating
Starting from Level 3: Introduction to Speed Skating, skaters will learn speed skating starts, arm swing, track patterns, basic racing rules and speed skating technique in a nationally aligned progressive curriculum.
Progress Through a National Pathway
SkateFAST is part of Australian Ice Racing’s official development pathway, with progressive levels that take skaters from learning speed skating fundamentals through to club-ready racing skills.
Join a Fun and Supportive Community
SkateFAST is built around fun, confidence and positive participation. Whether your child dreams of racing or simply loves being active on the ice, there’s a place for them in speed skating.
